Answer
Drywall repair does not automatically include painting unless the estimate or contract specifically includes it. A basic drywall scope may end after the patch is taped, finished, sanded, textured, and left ready for primer or paint.
When painting is included, the scope should identify primer, paint product, color, sheen, number of surfaces, and the boundary of the painted area. Spot painting only around a patch can remain visible because existing paint changes with age, cleaning, light, and prior touchups. Painting to a natural corner or full wall boundary may provide a more consistent appearance. Original paint information is helpful, but exact color and sheen matching cannot be guaranteed on an aged surface. Westpeak’s drywall repair service can include painting when it is clearly described in the proposed work.
